What kind of mattress would be better for a person with back problems and another that wants a soft bed?

My boyfriend and I have been sharing a bed for 6 years, and both hated our mattress. So we recently decided to invest in a good mattress … they were really interested in Tempur-Pedic, but decided against it. We ended up getting a 'luxury Aireloom' mattress that is supposed to support, but also has a padded top August huge (with latex foam, I think). Now, I have no problem with the mattress … I love to feel enveloped by it, but my boyfriend has been suffering from back pain. He has sciatica (sciatic nerve pressure resulting in chronic back pain and leg … not usually a permanent condition). We are about to date limit for the exchange of it, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem, and if so, is there a special mattress that has worked well for you? I prefer a soft mattress … he prefers company. I should also mention that they can not get a "Sleep Number" because you do not carry on 'Sit n Sleep (Which is only the exchange)

Hi there, I also had some bad back problems in the past and decided to invest in a foam mattress Memory Topper 2 inch thick. I absolutely love it. It is firm and supportive, but comfortable at the same time. I have mine at Wal – Mart for $ 70, but that was a mattress Queen. But you may want to check it, I know I have definitely not regret buying! Hope this helps, good luck! * ~ * ~ ~ * ~ * Hailey
