Sciatica leg wound?
I have had pain in the legs and sometimes the back, hip and pelvic pain during the last 2 weeks. I the hospital last night and the doctor said everything looks good films and thought it was sciatica more likely, just did X-rays of my back. My question is with sciatica or back muscle strain is common for the leg hurt more back? Most of the pain in my leg times in the calf and knee area I am in a sitting position almost every day I read this 5 times makes worse. The only time I really feel the pain back is when I'm sleeping and whiel turning into and out of bed.
It is very common for sciatica pain experienced in the legs and / or arms. Like most patients with sciatica, is likely to respond well to nonsurgical forms of treatment. Here are some of the treatments surgery your doctor may include in your treatment plan. Your doctor may prescribe medication. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and analgesics help reduce swelling while relieving pain. NSAIDs include aspirin, ibuprofen and prescription strength medications. Relaxants may be prescribed or muscle pain medication stronger. Epidural steroid injections (ESIS), corticosteroids place near the spinal nerve roots. Injections corticosteroids can reduce inflammation and nerve pain for months or longer, but ESIS are not effective for all patients. You can also explore the medical treatment which may include passive treatments such as cold or heat, deep tissue massage, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. These treatments help to prepare for therapeutic exercise, the active part of physical therapy. Another option is to go to a chiropractor. Chiropractors can use cold therapy, ultrasound, TENS, and spinal manipulation (adjustments) to help solve the problem.
