Sciatica relief?
Besides pain medications, is there any way to get some relief from sciatica pain? I have RA and when lands on my hips, my sciatica acts up. 600 mgs. of ibuprofen every 5-6 hours will provide limited relief, but after 2 weeks it has become rather boring. I have prescribed additional pain medication, and want to avoid that route if possible. I wonder if I could hear all stretching exercises to provide relief, considering that they have a limited range of motion and mobility. sitting, standing, lying down and do nothing that makes me feel better. Any advice?
My husband suffers from sciatica and her physiotherapist suggested a few things. Fold a towel in half and roll. Put it on the floor and put the spine along it. Knees bent and support your head with a pillow. My husband does it for about 5 minutes per day. She was in her belly and push up with arms, arching back – try to get the head of your ass – but only what is comfortable. Hold for 30 seconds at a time, do it for about 10 minutes. Also a massage would be beneficial – at least thats my hubby excuse.
