lower back pain right side pain

Sharp stabbing pain in the lumbar region, on the right side just below the last rib?
I'm going to do only with daily activities and average I suddenly have this horrible stabbing pain in my mid / lower back just below my last rib on the right. When I'm expericing this episode of pain, I think the pain gets worse when you exhale. Any idea what this could be? Thanks everyone!
It may be just a bruise or like that other guy said a appendicitus. You should go to the doctor and have it checked out. I almost had to get one down because of pain, but now I am fine. Heres some info on appendicitus: Appendicitis (or epityphlitis) is a condition characterized by inflammation of the appendix. All cases require removal of the inflamed appendix, either by laparotomy or laparoscopy. Without treatment, mortality is high, mainly due to peritonitis and shock. Reginald Fitz first described acute appendicitis in 1886, and has been recognized as one of the most common causes worldwide severe acute abdominal pain.
