First, you really should consult with your doctor, as low back injury can be very debilitating. And the torque force and torque of the golf swing puts a great strain on the lower back. (Freddie Couples Ask about that!) I have long had a sensitive / tender lower back (and try to carry a heavy trunk, too, for almost 40 years. After a long period of grief, I found that regular (daily, sometimes more often) lower back stretches performed better stay on the golf course … Advil often with anti-inflammatory dose. I with 5-8 short (10 seconds) exercises. Some are shown on this website (http://www.lower-back-pain-toolkit.com/exercise-for-back-pain.html). Others include: 1) make one foot on a sidewalk (or 6-12 inches off the ground) and inert bent over to stretch the lower back … Repeat with the other foot … and (when the pain is gone …) … 2) while in the back, turning the hips to put my left leg on my right side (beginning, with the knee bent, then with the extended leg) to stretch the back low … Repeat with other leg in the other direction. Before these were not times when I could not stand, let alone the club. If I keep up the exercises, I have no problems. (Thanks for reminding me to do now!) But I insist that it would be best to check with your doctor for treatment (including exercises) that are optimized for specific injury condition.
