back pain tingling arms

The disks are protective cushions between the bones of the spine. Although not really a "slip", a disc can split or rupture. This can make the disc, allowing the gel to escape into the surrounding tissue. The gelatinous substance leaks can put pressure on the spinal cord or in a single nerve fiber and cause pain either around the damaged disk or anywhere in the area controlled by that nerve. This condition is also known as a herniated, ruptured, prolapsed, or more commonly herniated disc.
Slip disc or a herniated spinal disc can occur in any disc in the spine, but the two most common are cervical disc hernia and hernia lumbar disc.
The factors leading to a herniated disk include aging associated with degeneration and loss of elasticity of the disks and structures support, bad posture combined with the habitual use of incorrect body mechanics, physical hard work (delivery), lifting, especially if accompanied by twisting or turning, excessive strain, and the sudden blunt trauma. A hernia can develop suddenly or gradually over weeks or months.
People between the ages of 30 and 50 appear to be vulnerable because the elasticity and water content of the nucleus decreases with age. But in recent times shows that even people all age group 20 to 30 is also being affected with the sliding disk, due to their lifestyle and dietary habits.
A herniated disc can be asymptomatic. If it causes pain, is mostly due to pressure on the nerve roots, spinal cord or cauda equina.
A herniated disc therefore can produce symptoms anywhere along the course of that nerve, although the injury and irritation of the nerve are located in the spine itself (pain referred). A herniated disk may produce different symptoms and varying degrees of back pain or neck with numbness or weakness, tingling, paralysis individual muscles, possibly with pain radiating to the arms or legs, paralysis of the body part under the pressure of the spinal cord, alterations sensation in the extremities, muscle spasms, difficulty controlling bowel movements or bladder function, impaired sensation in the rectum and the inside thighs, etc,.
